Vineyard Bible Institute
kingdom, biblical and practial trainingVineyard Bible Institute (VBI) intends to equip Christians for life and ministry. The structure of the curriculum, at every level, is intentionally directed towards certain skills or outcomes.
1. The first outcome is to do the ministry of Jesus. Since he is the founder of Christianity, and the commission of the church was issued by its founder, it is essential to understand his original message and ministry and to be able to emulate or perpetuate it. The subject of "Jesus research" is of major significance. It is the hinge upon which almost every theological discipline turns. To deal with it adequately, students have to include elements of biblical theology, systematic theology, and practical theology in their studies.
2. The second outcome is general biblical knowledge, biblical interpretation, and exposition or teaching.
3. The third outcome is the skill of church-based Christian leadership. Since the church is the base from which all ministry flows, Christian leadership must include healthy and effective church life, ministry, and mission.
4. The ministry of Jesus, located in and proceeding from the local church, where the content of biblical knowledge is taught and lived, does not take place in a vacuum, but in the context of a broader society. The fourth outcome is therefore the ability to relate the Christian faith to the contemporary social context, to apply biblical teaching, and to influence (leaven) society.
Frequency: Periodically offered throughout the year.
